The embrace of an old friend
This was my college perfume-- such a unique and sophisticated scent for someone so young. I stopped wearing it shortly after in favor of Addict, and over the years almost forgot about it until a friend reminded me that it had been my signature. Alas! I couldn't find it in stores. I located a bottle from a reseller that was old and had turned to a messy soup. Months later, I stumbled across it here when looking for a new fragrance. Imagine my delight when it arrived the very next day after I ordered! The scent has been reformulated and lacks some of the bombast of the late 90s big hair era I remember, but its mellower aura stirred memories of a 20 something me, so sure of myself, ready to take on the world. I almost wept as it dried down into what I fully remembered-- the embrace of an old lover, this Dune, dry and warm, unique and strange in its tonality. Thank you, Dior for allowing my older self to connect with who I was so long ago, and appreciate this scent that is still very much a part of this beautiful journey.
