Actually works!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Since I started using The Ordinary balancing & clarifying serum, my skin feels so smooth and looks more radiant than before. My acne has improved. I notice less breakouts. I apply a few drops to my face after cleansing with another product from this brand. It’s recommended to use morning and before bedtime. This is fragrance free. This serum has a slight oily substance and a bit of a sticky feel at first application. After it dries it leaves the skin looking & feeling flawless! I definitely recommend using the Ordinary and all their other products.

Best serum ever
This serum has been a game changer for me. I started using the Ordinary range about 8 months ago after battling with dark facial spots, hyperpigmentation, and uneven skin for many years. I have received lots of beautiful compliments for some time now. It's my go to serum. I use it morning and night for three days after using the Ordinary milk toner, and then I use the Ordinary Retinol 1% Squalane once every 3 nights. My skin has never felt this young, clear, spotless and fresh. Thank you Ordinary. You've got me hooked forever.

Not great
I bought this about a month ago but I dont see any changes in my skin yet. I've also seen other reviews saying it's fragrance free but mine has a very bad smell to it.

What's up with the smell?
Is it supposed to smell awful? Cuz every time I use it, it smells like yeast. Blegh. I tried using it for several days (probably 2-3 days) until I started to notice my nose peeling on the side from use.

Made my skin significantly worse, caused damage
I used this product for two months. At first it seemed to be working, then my skin got significantly worse. I thought it might be purging so I tried sticking it out, but the pimples got worse than I've ever had before. They were more like blisters, and I got a lot on my forehead, which never happens for me. They felt deep and painful. After I stopped using it, it took weeks for my skin to heal. Some of the pimples on my forehead lasted for months, which had never happened to me before. My skin looked worse than ever. I genuinely felt embarrassed to be seen. It seemed to damage my skin and make it harder for it to heal, and I've still got marks where the worst of the blister-like spots on my forehead were. One of the bumps is still there after a month. I could never recommend it, and would advise anyone with sensitive skin to stay away from it.

Disappointed
I really liked this at first- texture was good, and I noticed an immediate improvement in how oily my skin would be by the end of the workday- normally around lunch I'd be visibly shiny again, but with this I made it through the whole workday without feeling the need to blot oil.
Unfortunately, even though I patch tested, after a couple weeks of use I realized I was having a reaction and messed up my skin barrier. Have been red and sensitive for like a month now, have even had to stop washing my face at all for the first time in my life.
This is probably just a personal problem with how my skin reacted, but I have to say I was a little on the fence buying this serum since I didn't feel like the formulation/science explanation was as transparent as I am used to from TO, and the fact that all the top reviews were incentivized, which feels disingenuous to me.
Additionally, I've been running around in circles on teh website trying to figure out the return and am not getting anywhere, which is highly frustrating.

Works exactly as described
I've been struggling with acne my whole life, and after many years and many products, I have recently accepted that it's hormonal and nothing can be done. I came across this serum at the store, and it described my skin - acne prone, uneven texture/tone, etc. I am happy to say that my skin has cleared up considerably since using this serum. It does everything it says it does, and more. My skin looks soft, even, and clear for the first time since... maybe ever. After about a week using it once every other day, my problem area completely cleared of most acne (my chin). The rest of my face looks smooth, even, and healthy. I still have acne spots/scars, but the painful white heads and under the skin zits have cleared away. I am so happy I tried this product!
